What is vibe coding, and should I use it for my business site?
Vibe coding is building software or websites by describing what you want to an AI and letting it generate the code, rather than writing it yourself. It is fast and great for prototypes and simple sites. For a business site it can work, but the output often needs a real developer to make it clean, fast, accessible, and set up properly for SEO, so it is a starting point, not usually the finished product.
The appeal is obvious: you describe a site and get something working in minutes, no coding skill needed. For experiments, internal tools, or a rough draft, it is genuinely useful.
The catch is that fast output is not the same as good output. AI-generated sites often have messy structure, weak SEO, accessibility gaps, and performance issues you will not spot until they cost you. For a site that represents your business and needs to get found, those details matter.
How I use it: AI speeds up parts of my process, but I build the site properly around it, clean, fast, accessible, and set up to be found. You get the speed without the mess. That is the point of hiring someone who knows the difference.
